Boxing

Amateur boxing is both an Olympic and Commonwealth Games sport and is a standard fixture in most international games it also has its own World Championships. Boxing is overseen by a referee over a series of one- to three-minute intervals called rounds.

While humans have fought in hand-to-hand combat since the dawn of human history, the earliest evidence of fist-fighting sporting contests dates back to the ancient Near East in the 3rd and 2nd millennia BC.[2] The earliest evidence of boxing rules dates back to Ancient Greece, where boxing was established as an Olympic game in 688 BC.[2] Boxing evolved from 16th- and 18th-century prizefights, to what it is now in this day and age. Four generally accepted boxing styles are used to define fighters. These are the swarmer, out-boxer, slugger, and boxer-puncher. Come Join us & let's see which style or styles suits you.

 Wrestling

The oldest martial art in the world is wrestling. Its origins go back 15,000 years through cave drawings. Babylonian and Egyptian reliefs show wrestlers using most of the holds known in the present-day sport. Catch wrestling is a classical hybrid grappling style and combat sport. It was developed in 1870 & had its start in Lancanshire United Kingdom and was popularised by wrestlers of traveling funfairs who developed their submission holds, or "hooks", into their wrestling to increase their effectiveness against their opponents. Catch wrestling derives from various international styles of wrestling: several English styles. The training of some modern submission wrestlersprofessional wrestlers, and mixed martial artists is founded in catch wrestling. Billy Robinson always would say "Catch Wrestling is the best martial art in the world". I too agree with him. RiP Billy
